The Challenge
Meridian Legal Group had been in practice for 12 years, but their website told a different story. Built on a cookie-cutter legal template, it looked identical to dozens of other firms in the Austin market. Page load times exceeded 8 seconds on mobile. The contact form was buried on a separate page. And despite strong word-of-mouth referrals, the site generated fewer than 10 consultation requests per month.
The founding partners wanted a site that reflected the firm's actual reputation: experienced, approachable, and results-driven. They also needed the site to rank for competitive personal injury search terms in the Austin metro area.

Our Approach
We started with a two-day discovery sprint. We interviewed the three founding partners, reviewed intake data to understand which case types were most valuable, and audited the top 10 competitors in the Austin personal injury space.
The competitive audit revealed an opportunity: every competitor used dark blue or black color schemes with stock photos of gavels and courthouses. We went in the opposite direction -- a warm, light design with real photography that felt more like a trusted advisor than a courtroom.

Design Direction
A warm, editorial design language that broke from industry conventions. Custom typography, a muted earth-tone palette, and generous whitespace.
Mobile-First Development
Built on Astro with a headless CMS. Every page designed and tested at mobile breakpoints first, then scaled up.
Conversion Architecture
Contact CTAs placed within scroll depth of every page. Sticky mobile header with tap-to-call. Multi-step form that reduced friction.

Each practice area page follows a consistent structure: what the charge means, what is at stake, how the firm approaches defense, and a clear call to action. Written in plain language, not legalese.
Mobile Experience
63% of the firm's traffic comes from mobile. The mobile experience was designed first: tap-to-call in the sticky header, a simplified navigation, and optimized images that load in under 2 seconds.
CMS & Content Management
The attorneys can now publish blog posts, update practice area content, and add case results through a structured CMS -- no developer needed. Content types enforce consistent formatting automatically.
